Great post.  We refer to splash pages as "skip intros" because that's what everyone wants to do.

I think the biggest mistake agencies (and businesses) make with splash pages is that they're trying to orchestrate what the viewer sees. It's an "I know what you really want to see" attitude.

The agencies that present content rich home pages with some eye candy and push up information that potential clients are really looking for are the ones who are really thinking in terms of what the buyer wants.

They'll win out every time.</description>
